The group show Rubbing was curated by Christian Tunge for Landskrona Fotofestival, August 2014.
Featuring work by Marthe Elise Stramrud, Sara Larsen Stiansen, Andrea Grundt Johns and Geir Moseid. The show focuses on the Norwegian’s approach to the photographic medium, material and tactility. Through fundamental experiments and thorough observations the exhibition challenges the very form of the photograph. The works reference painting, sculpture, installation and photography and blurs the lines between them.Andrea Grundt Johns has translated a portrait of a blind man to braille and put it behind glass so neither you or he can read it. Marthe Elise Stramrud creates sculptural compositions of everyday objects but insists on the form and framework of the two dimensional photographic medium. Geir Moseid has manipulated an already existing photograph and brings the glossy commercial into the gallery. In Sara Larsen Stiansen’s video we are left observing an obsessive, hypnotic action in an eternal loop.
The erotic undertones and the materials eager to be touched create an intimate and poetic relation between the works exhibited.
